Acupuncture is a quick and painless procedure. You are typically in and out of the office within 30 minutes.
Acupuncture
Treats pain and many other chronic health conditions
Acupuncture is one of the many natural treatments for chronic health conditions that we offer at Sonoma Acupuncture Integrative Health in Las Cruces, New Mexico
Acupuncture is a time-tested, holistic medicine that can help to decrease pain and restore function. It is also helpful for internal conditions like anxiety, GI problems, fertility, thyroid, allergies and much more. Science is only beginning to grasp the powerful medicine that is Acupuncture and understand the mechanisms behind it.
An initial consultation with Dr. Janet Quintanilla is required to find out if you are a candidate for Acupuncture. If you are determined to be a candidate, we can perform your first procedure the same day.
What To Expect With Acupuncture
We are used to patients coming to us after trying everything else. Acupuncture is often the last resort but we typically have the best results.
Quick & Painless
Treatment Course
The number of procedures you will need will vary based on your specific condition, the amount of time you’ve had it, etc.
Accurate Evaluation
Once you are evaluated, Dr. Janet Quintanilla will analyze your presentation and give you an estimate of the number of treatments likely needed based on clinically evidence based data.
The Process
The Acupuncture process is repeated 2-5 times a week until maximum improvement is seen. Then a maintenance regimen is often prescribed to prevent recurrence. Maintenance may be as little as 1-2 times per month.
Absence Of Symptoms
Acupuncture can and often results in a complete absence of symptoms, even in severe pain conditions that have been present for years.

Common Questions
Am I A Candidate For Acupuncture ?
The medical literature shows acupuncture’s effect on nearly every biophysical system in the body. I’ve seen patients suffering from a wide variety of problems respond to acupuncture treatment when nothing else has worked. So, for most people, yes, acupuncture is something you should explore.
How Many Acupuncture Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments needed differs from person to person. For complex or long-standing conditions, one or two treatments a week for several months may be recommended. For acute problems, usually fewer visits are required, and for health maintenance, we recommend monthly tune ups.
Does Acupuncture Hurt?
No. It’s very comfortable. Most people end up taking a nap during their treatment and leave feeling refreshed and relaxed.
Is Acupuncture Covered By Insurance?
We are out of network with all insurance companies and do not bill third party or private insurance directly. We can provide you with a super bill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. The good news is, that you are the one in charge of what procedures you get, not an insurance company, and acupuncture treatment is very affordable.
