Dry Needling
Relief for myofascial pain, increase range of motion and more
Dry Needling is one of the many natural treatments for chronic health conditions that we offer at Sonoma Acupuncture Integrative Health in Las Cruces, New Mexico
Dry Needling releases trigger points to ease musculoskeletal pain and improve range of movement. Sonoma Acupuncture Integrative Health is the only provider in the Las Cruces, New Mexico area with extensive training and experience in both Dry Needling and Orthopedic Acupuncture.
An initial consultation with Dr. Janet Quintanilla is required to find out if you are a candidate for Dry Needling. If you are determined to be a candidate, we can perform your first procedure the same day.
What Is A Trigger Point?
A trigger point is a local contracture or tight band in a muscle fiber that can disrupt function, restrict range of motion, cause pain or muscle tenderness.
How Does Dry Needling Help?
When Dry Needling is applied to a muscular trigger point, it can decrease banding or tightness, increase blood flow, and reduce pain & muscle tenderness.
Is Dry Needling The Same As Acupuncture?
Dry Needling is not the same as acupuncture. Acupuncture is based on Eastern medicine, whereas Dry Needling is rooted in Western medicine and the evaluation of pain patterns and movement impairments.

Common Questions
Am I A Candidate For Dry Needling ?
Patients suffering from any kind of pain, stiffness, soreness, limited range of motion, tight muscles, or to prevent injury are considered as candidates for Dry Needling.
I've Had Surgery, Can I Still Get Dry Needling Therapy?
Yes! Dry Needling is used post operatively everyday across the world. It actually helps you to heal faster. Studies show acupuncture and dry needling can speed up healing by 5 times.
Does Acupuncture Hurt?
No. It’s very comfortable. Most people end up taking a nap during their treatment and leave feeling refreshed and relaxed.
Is Dry Needling Covered By Insurance?
We are out of network with all insurance companies and do not bill third party or private insurance directly. We can provide you with a super bill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. The good news is, that you are the one in charge of what procedures you get, not an insurance company, and dry needling is very affordable.
